Pastoral Visiting - Power Point Presentation
Pastoral Visiting: PowerPoint Presentation.This Presentation has been produced as a small booklet for use by any person attached to Wilmslow URC who is engaged in pastoral visiting. If you wish to take a copy for your own use then please do so. (The document has been produced using PowerPoint and therefore can be printed or used as a slide presentation).
Wilmslow URC has a Pastoral Care Scheme where the whole congregation (members, adherents, those at the heart of the Church and those on the fringe) is divided into groups on a geographical basis. Each group has a leader and there are a number of Pastoral Visitors in each group. The leader of each area is in regular contact with the overall Pastoral Care Co-ordinator and the Minister of the Church.
Much of the success or failure of any Pastoral Care Scheme depends on three things:
The efficiency of the system of communication between all levels of caring, from the pastoral visitors to the minister.
A proper regard for confidentiality in respecting the information people tell us about themselves and their private family affairs.
An all-pervading spirit of unconditional love. This means that no pre-conditions are set such as persuading people to come to Church or change their attitudes if pastoral visiting is to continue by the Church.
All three are of fundamental importance.
This explanation is given in order to provide an understanding of how this document will be used by Wilmslow URC. However, we fully recognise that "one size does not fit all"! Please feel free to use this material any way that is appropriate for your own particular Church situation.
